  1. Create a chart for eliminated answers. The GMAT is taken on a computer, so test takers cannot write on the actual test. This makes the process of eliminating answers more difficult. Instead of individually writing “ABCDE” each time, create a chart at the start of the test to keep track of the eliminated answers.
  1. Visit the test center in advance. To ease test day nerves, visit the test center in advance, so you know exactly how to get there, where to park and to better understand what test day will be like.
  1. Prepare for the atmosphere in the testing room. According to GMAC rules, test takes cannot access any communication devices throughout the duration of the test. Food or drink is not allowed in the testing room but is allowed during breaks. Since it is a long exam, bring healthy snacks and beverages. Also bring a sweater or sweatshirt to be comfortable with the temperature in the testing room.
  1. Take advantage of breaks. Another essential GMAT study tip is to take advantage of the breaks. Although breaks are optional and you may be tempted to move through the test as quickly as possible, take advantage of a short break to rest.
